Abstract :
PURPOE: To determine ytemic factor aociated with central erou chorioretinopathy. METHOD: In a retropective tudy, 230 conecutive patient with central erou chorioretinopathy examined in a referral etting were compared with a hitorical gender-matched and age-matched control group of 230 patient with ocular finding who were examined in the ame referral etting. REULT: The median age of the patient wa 49.8 year, and of the control ubject, 50.0 year. The male-female ratio for both group wa 2.7:1. Patient with central erou chorioretinopathy were more likely to ue pychopharmacologic medication (odd ratio = 2.6; 95% confidence interval = 1.30 to 5.19; P = .0049) and corticoteroid (odd ratio = 3.17; 95% confidence interval = 1.30 to 7.70; P = .0067) and were more likely to have hypertenion (odd ratio = 2.25; 95% confidence interval = 1.39 to 3.63; P = .0008) than were the control ubject. CONCLUION: Thi tudy identified pychopharmacologic medication ue, corticoteroid ue, and hypertenion a factor aociated with central erou chorioretinopathy. Thee finding reinforce the concept that tre and adaptation to tre play a role in thi diorder. The finding of poible aociation between central erou chorioretinopathy and both hypertenion and corticoteroid uage ugget that thee modifiable factor may influence morbidity of central erou chorioretinopathy.
