Corneal endothelial change in patient with chronic renal failure

PURPOE: To evaluate the morphologic change of the corneal endothelium in patient with chronic renal failure. METHOD: Twenty cornea of 20 patient with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialyi were examined by wide-field pecular microcopy. Twenty normal cornea from 20 healthy age-matched ubject were enrolled a control cornea. REULT: Depite normal endothelial cell denity, the corneal endothelium of patient with chronic renal failure howed marked polymegethim and pleomorphim. CONCLUION: Polymegethim and pleomorphim of the corneal endothelium are found in patient with chronic renal failure.
