Abstract :
PURPOE: To report a cae of necrotizing faciiti after cometic blepharoplaty. METHOD: Cae report. A 74-year-old woman with hitory of type II diabete mellitu underwent bilateral upper eyelid blepharoplaty. Potoperatively he developed fever, grayih dicoloration of the kin, violaceou bullae, and a right facial nerve paly. Necrotizing faciiti wa diagnoed and treated with intravenou antibiotic, debridement of necrotic tiue, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. REULT: The infection reolved, but the patient required recontruction for correction of cicatricial ectropion. CONCLUION: Necrotizing faciiti i a potentially fatal infection that typically occur in the etting of trauma. Early recognition of it pathognomonic ign and aggreive management are paramount.
