Preervation of viion through Wei ring after dene vitreou hemorrhage

PURPOE: To report an unuual cae of retained viion through a Wei ring in the etting of dene vitreou hemorrhage. METHOD: Cae report of a 55-year-old woman with a 23-year hitory of type 1 diabete mellitu who preented with new onet of blurred viion in the left eye a a reult of a dene vitreou hemorrhage. REULT: The patient had received full catter laer photocoagulation for proliferative diabetic retinopathy in the right eye everal year earlier and reported previou reolving epiode of vitreou hemorrhage in the left eye. Bet-corrected viual acuity in the left eye wa hand motion at 3 feet. However, with careful head poitioning viual acuity improved to 20/40 through a mall clear central iland. Examination of the left fundu howed a dene vitreou hemorrhage with a clear, mobile opening in the poterior hyaloid correponding to the Wei ring. The retina could be partially viualized only through the area of the Wei ring. CONCLUION: Thi unuual cae demontrate the anatomical relationhip between the poterior hyaloid and Wei ring.
