Retinal oligodendroglioma

PURPOE: To report a cae of oligodendroglioma originating from the acceory glia of retina. METHOD: Cae report of a 72-year-old woman with a tumor in the temporal fundu of the right eye that wa upected to be choroidal melanoma. Enucleation wa declined, but 5 year later, becaue of tumor growth, pain, and lo of light perception, the globe wa enucleated. REULT: Hitopathologic examination dicloed a neuroepithelial tumor with a tructure of oligodendroglioma. Melanoma and metatatic tumor were excluded. CONCLUION: Oligodendroglioma are rare in the retina but may originate from retinal oligodendrocyte. Thi cae ugget that the differential diagnoi of choroidal melanoma hould include the poibility of oligodendroglioma.
