PURPOE: To report the ue of poterior auricular mucle complex graft a a wrapping material for hydroxyapatite orbital implant in enucleation urgery. METHOD: In a retropective multicenter tudy, autogenou poterior auricular mucle complex graft were ued to cover hydroxyapatite orbital implant in 83 patient with a mean age of 38.6 year (range, 1 to 85 year), of whom 63 had primary unilateral enucleation and 20 had econdary orbital implant following enucleation. The mean follow-up period after poterior auricular mucle complex graft wa 36 month (range, 14 to 60 month). REULT: Of the 83 patient, two (2.4%) developed limited orbital implant expoure, which wa treated with a econd poterior auricular mucle complex “patch graft.” No patient developed potoperative orbital infection or implant extruion. All patient were fitted with an acceptable prothei and had atifactory cometic and functional reult. No patient developed vacular compromie or a wound defect aociated with the poterior auricular donor ite. CONCLUION: Autogenou poterior auricular mucle complex graft hould be conidered a an appropriate wrapping material for hydroxyapatite orbital implant for primary enucleation and for econdary orbital implant after enucleation.
