Iatrogenic cataract after laer-aited in itu keratomileui

PURPOE: To report a cae of corneal opacity and iatrogenic cataract after laer-aited in itu keratomileui. METHOD: Cae report. A 44-year-old man wa initially een with a traumatic cataract, corneal tromal opacity, and defect of the endothelium in the right eye after laer-aited in itu keratomileui performed by a platic urgeon who had no ophthalmologic training. REULT: It wa peculated that repeated ablation reulted in corneal perforation. We immediately performed phacoemuliification to remove the cataract and to prevent phacolytic glaucoma. However, viual acuity remained 20/200 becaue of the corneal tromal opacity, and penetrating keratoplaty wa performed 2 month later, which improved bet-corrected viual acuity to 20/30. CONCLUION: Thi cae demontrated that laer-aited in itu keratomileui can caue devatating damage to the eye.
