Intact enory fuion in a child with divergence parei caued by a pontine glioma

PURPOE: To decribe a child with divergence parei eotropia caued by a brain tumor with intact enory and motor fuion. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: A 9-year-old boy who had one epiode of double viion wa initially een with a mall, variably preent eophoria at near viion, an intermittent 10 prim diopter eotropia at ditance, and tereopi of 80 arc econd. A magnetic reonance imaging examination dicloed a 4.0 × 4.5-cm pontine glioma. CONCLUION: Ophthalmologit hould recognize that the preence of intact enory and motor fuion in a child with acute, comitant eotropia of the divergence parei type doe not preclude intracranial abnormality. If immediate neuroimaging i deferred, repeated thorough ocular motility examination are warranted to detect progreion.
