Treatment of a cyclodialyi cleft by mean of ophthalmic laer microendocope endophotocoagulation

PURPOE: To report on the repair of a cyclodialyi cleft by mean of endolaer photocoagulation. METHOD: Cae report. We decribe treatment of a cyclodialyi cleft by mean of endolaer photocoagulation with a diode laer. REULT: In a 8-year-old boy with peudophakia and econdary glaucoma in the right eye, combined trabeculectomy/trabeculotomy wa performed. Ten month later, the patient wa een with peritent hypotony with a flat filtration bleb. The hypotony wa unreponive to all form of medical therapy. Reformation of the anterior chamber along with ynechialyi revealed a 2.5 clock–hour cyclodialyi cleft by mean of goniocopy. A laer microendocope probe wa ued and laer wa applied to both the internal cleral and external ciliary body urface within the depth of the cleft. Within 3 week after treatment, intraocular preure increaed to 15 mm Hg and ha remained at that level a of 9 month after the endolaer photocoagulation procedure. CONCLUION: Endolaer photocoagulation with the ophthalmic laer microendocope may be an appropriate procedure, after failure of medical therapy, for the diagnoi and repair of a cyclodialyi cleft, epecially in the pediatric population.
