Abstract
PURPOE:
To decribe the clinical feature of lacrimal gland inflammation aociated with Eptein-Barr viru infection.
METHOD:
The clinical record, laboratory data, and radiograph of patient who had inflammation of one or both lacrimal gland that had begun le than 4 week previouly were reviewed.
REULT:
ixteen patient with dacryoadeniti were encountered between 1980 and 1996, a cumulative frequency of approximately one cae per 10,000 new ophthalmic outpatient. ix individual had erologic or other evidence of recent Eptein-Barr viru infection and were ditinguihed by the preence of regional lymphadenopathy, no purulent dicharge, and a duration of ymptom of 6 week.
CONCLUION:
Eptein-Barr viru i a probable caue of unilateral and bilateral dacryoadeniti in young adult.
