Laer iridocytotomy for bilateral acute angle-cloure glaucoma econdary to iri cyt

PURPOE: To report laer iridocytotomy for bilateral acute angle-cloure glaucoma econdary to peripheral iri cyt. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: In a 55-year-old man with increaed bilateral intraocular preure, goniocopy revealed varied angle narrowing. Bilateral angle-cloure glaucoma econdary to peripheral iri cyt wa diagnoed by ultraound biomicrocopy. The peripheral iri cyt could not be een in mydriai by goniocopy. Therefore, we decided to perform laer iridocytotomy with argon and Nd:YAG laer. Collape of the cyt after laer treatment wa demontrated by ultraound biomicrocopy. At follow-up, 9 month after laer treatment, intraocular preure had dropped below 20 mm Hg in both eye without further therapy. The iri cyt did not recur, which wa demontrated by ultraound biomicrocopy. CONCLUION: Peripheral iri cyt may produce angle cloure and may caue econdary angle-cloure glaucoma. If tranpupillary laer cytotomy i not poible, laer iridocytotomy may produce collape of the iri cyt and correction of econdary angle cloure.
