Vitreou hemorrhage after intravitreal tiue plaminogen activator (t-PA) and pneumatic diplacement of ubmacular hemorrhage

PURPOE: To report the immediate complication of dene vitreou hemorrhage after intravitreal injection of tiue plaminogen activator and ga for treatment of two cae of udden ubmacular hemorrhage aociated with retinal arterial macroaneurym. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: Two patient, a 67-year-old woman and a 92-year-old man, preented with udden viion lo related to ubmacular hemorrhage from a retinal macroaneurym. Tiue plaminogen activator at a doe of 50 μg to 75 μg and a ulfur hexafluoride (F6) ga bubble were injected intravitreally under local anetheia. Dene vitreou hemorrhage wa noted on the firt potoperative day in both cae, which ubequently required par plana vitrectomy removal. CONCLUION: udden evere vitreou hemorrhage may be an immediate complication after intravitreal injection of tiue plaminogen activator and ga for treatment of ubmacular hemorrhage aociated with retinal arterial macroaneurym.
