Improvement in macular function after retinal tranlocation urgery in a patient with age-related macular degeneration

PURPOE: To ae focal electroretinographic finding before and after retinal tranlocation urgery in a patient with age-related macular degeneration. METHOD: Cae report. A 79-year-old man with a well-defined ubfoveal choroidal neovacular membrane from age-related macular degeneration underwent preoperative and potoperative focal electroretinography. REULT: After retinal tranlocation urgery, bet-corrected nellen viual acuity improved from 9/200 to 20/60. A ignificant increae in mean foveal amplitude, from 0.08 μV to 0.16 μV (P = 0.008) wa recorded. CONCLUION: Age-related macular degenerative change in viual acuity and foveal electroretinogram amplitude may be reverible after retinal tranlocation urgery.
