Tubulointertitial nephriti and uveiti with bilateral multifocal choroiditi

PURPOE: To report a cae of bilateral multifocal choroiditi econdary to tubulointertitial nephriti and uveiti. METHOD: Cae report. A 16-year-old women with an 11-month hitory of tubulointertitial nephriti and uveiti and bilateral anterior uveiti developed bilateral multifocal choroiditi. After initial unucceful treatment with topical teroid, treatment wa augmented by a 2-week coure of ytemic prednione. REULT: Intenive teroid treatment reulted in teroid-induced glaucoma, which required bilateral trabeculectomie, but the uveiti became inactive. Two year after uveiti onet, bilateral intraocular preure wa normal, there were occaional ( +) anterior chamber cell, and inactive depigmented chorioretinal leion on topical teroid drop. ee alo pp. 764–768, 798–799. CONCLUION: Tubulointertitial nephriti and uveiti uually involve only the anterior uvea, although a few cae of poterior uveiti have been decribed. Thi article report a cae of multifocal choroiditi aociated with tubulointertitial nephriti and uveiti. It i important for ophthalmologit to be aware of poible poterior uveal involvement in tubulointertitial nephriti and uveiti o they can chooe the mot appropriate immunouppreive therapy for the uveiti.
