PURPOE: To report a cae of zoter ine herpete with bilateral ocular involvement. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: A 65-year-old man howed bilateral iridocycliti with ectoral iri atrophy and elevated intraocular preure unreponive to teroid treatment. No cutaneou eruption wa manifet on the forehead. A target region of varicella-zoter viru DNA equence wa amplified from the aqueou ample from the left eye by polymerae chain reaction. Bilateral iridocycliti reolved promptly after initiation of ytemic and topical acyclovir treatment. econdary glaucoma wa well controlled by bilateral trabeculectomy. CONCLUION: Zoter ine herpete hould be conidered and polymerae chain reaction performed on an aqueou ample to detect varicella-zoter viru DNA for rapid diagnoi whenever anterior uveiti accompanie the characteritic iri atrophy, even in the cae of bilateral involvement
