Acute megakaryoblatic leukemia in Down yndrome: orbital infiltration

%PURPOE: To decribe an uncommon ocular preentation of acute megakaryoblatic leukemia in a child with Down yndrome. METHOD: Cae report. Initial manifetation of dieae wa bilateral proptoi with econdary expoure keratiti caued by leukemic infiltration of the orbit. REULT: Bone marrow biopy and immunophenotyping etablihed the diagnoi of acute megakaryoblatic leukemia (FAB-M7). The leukemia wa treated uccefully with chemotherapy, with reolution of proptoi. The patient remained in remiion more than 1 year after ceation of treatment. CONCLUION: Bilateral proptoi can be a preenting ign of acute megakaryoblatic leukemia, a malignancy aociated with Down yndrome.
