Abstract
PURPOE: To report unilateral macular leion, mimicking toxoplamic car, in two children with erological evidence for lymphocytic choriomeningiti viru infection.
METHOD: Cae report.
REULT: Patient were 4 and 5 year old, with negative toxoplama erologie and no ign of rubella, cytomegaloviru, or herpe implex infection (TORCH evaluation). Lymphocytic choriomeningiti viru infection wa detected in both cae by enzyme-linked immunoorbent aay and confirmed by Wetern immunoblotting. The mode of infection were unknown; no hitory of ymptomatic ytemic lymphocytic choriomeningiti viru infection wa reported, and lymphocytic choriomeningiti viru erologie were negative in the mother of the patient. Neurological examination and brain magnetic reonance imaging were normal.
CONCLUION: Our obervation ugget that chorioretinal car can be an iolated manifetation of lymphocytic choriomeningiti viru infection.
