Abstract :
PURPOE: To evaluate the echographic feature of medulloepithelioma that may ait in etablihing the diagnoi.
METHOD: Retropective review identified four eye with medulloepithelioma tudied with echography. Clinical record, echographic finding, hitopathologic tumor feature, and the clinical coure were reviewed.
REULT: The initial preoperative diagnoi of medulloepithelioma wa uncertain, baed on clinical finding alone in three cae but wa accurate when echographic finding were combined with clinical finding in all four cae. Cyt poterior to the iri were detected on clinical examination in only two cae, but were revealed on echography in all four cae. Additional echographic finding included irregular high internal reflectivity (n = 4), irregular tumor urface (n = 3), molding around intraocular tructure (n = 3), and internal vacularity (n = 2).
CONCLUION: The diagnoi of medulloepithelioma i not alway apparent on clinical examination alone. Echographic finding of a highly reflective, irregularly tructured tumor with aociated cytic change involving the ciliary body region may help etablih a preumed diagnoi of medulloepithelioma
