Reveral of optic canal tenoi in oteopetroi after bone marrow tranplant

PURPOE: To decribe a patient with infantile oteopetroi and optic atrophy econdary to optic canal tenoi who demontrated optic canal enlargement after bone marrow tranplant. METHOD: Cae report. A 3-month-old infant with infantile “malignant” oteopetroi underwent ophthalmic examination, including viual evoked potential, electroretinogram, and computed tomography (CT). Bone marrow tranplant wa performed at 8 month of age. REULT: Examination revealed viual lo and optic atrophy, left eye greater than right eye, econdary to optic canal tenoi. Flah viual evoked potential revealed a normal waveform in both eye with increaed latency in the left eye. Electroretinogram wa normal in both eye. CT after bone marrow tranplant howed enlargement of the optic canal. Viion remain table 43 month after bone marrow tranplant. CONCLUION: Bone marrow tranplant in infantile oteopetroi may be followed by reveral of optic canal tenoi and preervation of viion
