  • Abstract
    PURPOE: To report ucceful corticoteroid treatment of optic dic neovacularization aociated with uveiti. METHOD: Retropective review of medical record. REULT: Nine patient were identified with chronic uveiti and optic dic neovacularization without clinical or angiographic evidence of retinal ichemia. Age ranged from 14 to 37 year (median age, 27). All patient were treated with either oral and/or ubtenon’ corticoteroid. Partial regreion of the neovacularization wa oberved in all patient within 2 to 6 week (median, 5 week) after initiating treatment. Eight of nine patient had complete reolution of dic neovacularization at a median of 3 month (range, 2 to 42 month) after initiation of treatment and a median follow-up of 24 month (range, 7 to 144 month). Recurrence of dic neovacularization occurred in two patient, but it regreed again after further corticoteroid therapy. CONCLUION: Optic dic neovacularization may occur in patient with chronic uveiti in the abence of retinal ichemia. Thi neovacularization can be uccefully treated with corticoteroid.
