Choroidal neovacular membrane: reproducibility of angiographic interpretation

PURPOE: To determine interoberver agreement for claifying choroidal neovacular membrane in age-related macular degeneration. METHOD: ix fluorecein angiogram of choroidal neovacular membrane were interpreted by 21 retina pecialit. Reliability wa meaured by percent agreement and kappa coefficient. REULT: Interoberver agreement of membrane type ranged from perfect concordance for a mall, claic membrane to near-random claification for a complex pattern. Mean kappa coefficient wa .64. Interoberver agreement of membrane ize wa mot variable for intermediate ize leion (mean kappa COEFFICIENT = .40). CONCLUION: Fluorecein angiographic interpretation of choroidal neovacular membrane type and ize can vary coniderably. Interoberver agreement i better for membrane type than for membrane ize.
