Extramedullary plamacytoma confined to the choroid

PURPOE: To report a cae of an extramedullary plamacytoma confined to the choroid. METHOD: Interventional cae report with cytopathologic correlation. REULT: A 76-year-old aymptomatic woman preented with 2 globular orange and amelanotic choroidal leion in the right eye. Fine needle apiration biopy of one of the choroidal leion followed by immunocytochemical tudie revealed monoclonal plama cell, diagnotic of plamacytoma. ytemic evaluation wa negative, except for increaed erum gamma globulin with immunoglobulin kappa pike on electrophorei. The patient wa managed by ocular external beam radiotherapy. At 9 year follow-up, he wa free of local dieae and never developed multiple myeloma. CONCLUION: Extramedullary plamacytoma confined to the choroid i rare. It may preent imulating other common amelanotic choroidal leion. Fine needle apiration biopy and proper ytemic evaluation are critical in etablihing the diagnoi.
