Abstract
PURPOE: To report that an avuled retinal veel may appear a a tractional retinal detachment on echographic evaluation.
METHOD: Cae report.
REULT: A 57-year-old diabetic woman preented with a nonclearing vitreou hemorrhage of 2 month duration in the left eye. Echography wa conitent with a localized tractional retinal detachment on longitudinal ection; tranvere ection demontrated a pinpoint opacity in the vitreou cavity. Intraoperatively, an avuled retinal veel wa noted in the area of echographic abnormality.
CONCLUION: An avuled retinal veel may mimic tractional retinal detachment on echography. Although trained ophthalmic echographer routinely perform both longitudinal and tranvere ection during an echographic evaluation, le killed oberver mut be aware of the importance of performing both longitudinal and tranvere ection for accurate echographic diagnoi
