Abstract
PURPOE: To decribe the occurrence of central retinal vein occluion in a patient with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.
METHOD: Cae report.
REULT: A 52-year-old woman developed central retinal vein occluion in the acute phae of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, followed by iri neovacularization only 1 month after the onet of central retinal vein occluion. Color Doppler imaging of the affected eye howed an increaed reitive index of the central retinal artery and reduced blood flow velocity of the central retinal vein compared to the fellow eye.
CONCLUION: We decribe a rare aociation between central retinal vein occluion and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura with rapid evolution of iri neovacularization. Our cae demontrate that cloe ophthalmologic attention i important in thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.
