METHOD: A 35-year-old patient underwent tatic viual field (Humphrey, 30-2) and multifocal electroretinogram teting at 2 week and 4 month after the onet of acute idiopathic blind pot enlargement. The timulu array for the multifocal electroretinogram conited of 61 hexagon, and the total recording time wa about 4 minute.
REULT: At 2 week, the patient had a large, well-demarcated cotoma centered on the blind pot, and it margin extended to within 5 degree of fixation. The multifocal electroretinogram were depreed in the area correponding to the cotoma. At 4 month, her viual ymptom diappeared and tatic viual field howed normal enitivitie at almot all location. However, the multifocal electroretinogram till revealed reduced focal repone in a broad area around the blind pot.
CONCLUION: Thee reult ugget that multifocal electroretinogram may be ued to detect ubclinical retinal dyfunction in patient with acute idiopathic blind pot enlargement
