Abstract :
PURPOE: To report our urgical reult of foveal tranlocation with cleral imbrication in patient with myopic neovacular maculopathy.
DEIGN: Noncomparative, interventional, conecutive cae erie.
METHOD: Ten eye of 10 myopic patient with ubfoveal neovacular membrane that had undergone foveal tranlocation with cleral imbrication were recruited for thi retropective tudy. Incluion criteria were myopia 6.0 diopter or greater in refractive error (or axial length 26.5 mm or longer), ubfoveal choroidal neovacularization, and preoperative bet-corrected viual acuity of 20/100 or wore. None of thee eye had undergone prior laer photocoagulation or ubmacular urgery. The main outcome meaure were urgical complication and potoperative viual function.
REULT: Potoperatively, viual acuity had improved more than 3 line in the logarithm of minimum angle of reolution (logMAR) meaurement in all eye. The mean preoperative, potoperative bet, and final viual acuity were 0.12, 0.59, and 0.51, repectively. Of the 10 eye, ix achieved a potoperative final viual acuity of 20/40 or better. The mean potoperative foveal diplacement wa 0.78 dik diameter (range, 0.3–1.3 dik diameter). Two patient underwent a reoperation becaue of inufficient foveal diplacement. Furthermore, one of thee two patient required a third operation to reduce an exceive retinal fold involving the fovea induced by the econd urgery. Of the 10 patient, two noted tranient diplopia. Thi complaint, however, reolved over time a uppreion developed. Although unintentional iatrogenic retinal tear formed intraoperatively in two eye, thee were uccefully treated without eriou complication. Potoperatively, mild retinal pigment epithelial change were oberved in all cae, but none led to ignificant deterioration of viual acuity during the follow-up period. All patient but one were followed for a minimum of 6 month.
CONCLUION: In eye with myopic neovacular maculopathy, foveal tranlocation with cleral imbrication may be ueful in improving viual acuity. Further refinement in urgical technique and aement of the long-term complication will be needed to make thi procedure afer and more ueful
