Abstract :
PURPOE: To evaluate the reult of laer in itu keratomileui after photorefractive keratectomy.
METHOD: Eighty eye of 80 patient with reidual myopia after photorefractive keratectomy were reoperated with laer in itu keratomileui. The tudy wa retropective. Laer in itu keratomileui wa performed uing the automated corneal haper microkeratome and Chiron Technola 217-C d1 excimer laer. Data meaured after laer in itu keratomileui included uncorrected viual acuity, bet-corrected viual acuity, refraction, haze, pachymetry, and keratometry. The follow-up wa at leat 12 ± 1.6 month (range, 12 to 15 month).
REULT: After laer in itu keratomileui the mean pherical equivalent wa −0.24 diopter ± 0.78. (range, −3 to +1.5) at 12 month, and the mean uncorrected viual acuity wa 0.76 diopter ± 0.24 (range, 0.1 to 1). ixty-five eye (81.3%) had variou degree of haze after laer in itu keratomileui. One eye (1.2%) lot 2 line of bet-corrected viual acuity.
CONCLUION: Laer in itu keratomileui enhancement may be a good alternative to correct reidual myopia and atigmatim after primary photorefractive keratectomy. Corneal haze i a common problem in thee eye, and the treatment after laer in itu keratomileui enhancement hould be the ame a the treatment after primary photorefractive keratectomy.
