Retinal finding in melanoma-aociated retinopathy

PURPOE: To report unuual fundu finding in two cae of melanoma-aociated retinopathy. METHOD: Obervational cae report. The hitorie of two patient with melanoma-aociated retinopathy were reviewed. era from both patient were examined for antibodie againt retinal bipolar cell. Immunofluorecence wa performed on cryotat ection of unfixed normal human retina. era and IgG from both patient were teted againt a known melanoma-aociated retinopathy patient a well a a control ubject. REULT: Our patient had metatatic, cutaneou melanoma and a clinical yndrome conitent with melanoma-aociated retinopathy. Both patient had erum antibodie that were reactive againt retinal bipolar cell. They had unuual fundu change not previouly decribed in aociation with melanoma-aociated retinopathy. One patient alo developed vitiligo. CONCLUION: Patient with metatatic cutaneou melanoma and melanoma-aociated retinopathy may preent unuual fundu leion that may be caued by autoimmunity which i part of the clinical picture of melanoma-aociated retinopathy or metatatic melanoma.
