Abstract :
PURPOE: To decribe pupil block glaucoma in phakic and peudophakic patient after vitrectomy with ilicone oil injection.
DEIGN: Interventional cae erie.
METHOD: Cae were collected from January 1997 to July 2000 from three tertiary referral center.
REULT: even phakic patient (even eye) and one peudophakic patient (one eye) preented 1 to 90 day after vitrectomy and ilicone oil injection with intraocular preure of 36 to 70 mm Hg. Five patient had an oberved or potential weakne of the iri-len diaphragm. Treatment with Nd:YAG-laer peripheral iridotomy or inferior iridectomy provided a temporary reduction in intraocular preure for ome patient, but all eventually required removal of ilicone oil.
CONCLUION: Pupil block glaucoma after ilicone oil injection i well recognized in aphakic patient, but ophthalmologit hould be aware that it can occur in phakic and peudophakic patient, particularly in complicated cae and patient with a weakne of the iri-len diaphragm
