Abstract
PURPOE: To evaluate the incidence and progreion of mall refractile vacuole in a conecutive erie of patient implanted with the urgidev B20/20 (urgidev Corporation, Goleta, California) polymethylmethacrylate intraocular len.
METHOD: Obervational cae erie. A 4-year propective tudy of the progreion of glitening in patient implanted with the urgidev B20/20 intraocular lene. In a conecutive erie of 51 patient (73 eye) that received the urgidev B20/20 intraocular len onet, number, and location of intraocular len glitening, bet-corrected viual acuity, and aociated ocular pathology were noted.
REULT: With mean follow-up of 98 ± 27 month (range, 48 to 176 month), 65 of 73 (89%) eye had intraocular len glitening. Glitening increaed in frequency and ize with increaing follow-up (P = .001).
CONCLUION: Glitening may occur in polymethylmethacrylate intraocular lene with long-term follow-up, and they are progreive
