Orbiculari myectomy with levator advancement in chwartz-jampel yndrome

PURPOE: chwartz-Jampel yndrome i a diorder of continuou myotonia cauing blepharopam, acquired ptoi, and blepharophimoi. We report the management of the aociated eyelid anomalie with orbiculari oculi myectomy, levator aponeuroi reection, and lateral canthopexy. METHOD: Interventional cae report. Two patient with chwartz-Jampel yndrome preented with blepharopam, acquired ptoi, and blepharophimoi. Orbiculari myectomy, levator aponeuroi reection, and lateral canthopexy were performed to relieve the blepharopam and to correct the ptoi and blepharophimoi. REULT: ignificant functional and cometic improvement were achieved by increaing the palpebral fiure height and length while greatly decreaing the blepharopam of the patient. No recurrence of the blepharopam or eyelid anomalie ha been noted after 1 and 15 year of follow-up, repectively. CONCLUION: The blepharopam and eyelid alteration caued by chwartz-Jampel yndrome hould be treated to provide functional and cometic improvement. Our technique of myectomy, levator reection, and lateral canthopexy provide an excellent, long-lating reult.
