Abstract :
PURPOE: To illutrate the utility of axial length meaurement in the management of congenital glaucoma.
METHOD: Interventional cae erie. Twelve eye of ix conecutive patient with congenital glaucoma were followed with erial axial length meaurement. The axial growth pattern were compared with the normal growth curve.
REULT: Eight (66.7%) of 12 eye had initial axial length longer than the normal range, and 4 eye (33.3%) were within the normal range. After urgical intervention with good intraocular preure control in 10 eye, 3 eye howed a decreae of axial length and 7 eye howed no decreae of axial length, but the axial growth pattern paralleled the normal growth curve. After urgical intervention with poor intraocular preure control, 2 eye had axial growth pattern greater than the normal pattern.
CONCLUION: With intraocular preure control in congenital glaucoma, axial length may decreae or the axial growth pattern may parallel the normal growth curve. Axial length meaurement may be ueful to monitor the control of congenital glaucoma.
