Choroidal melanoma metatatic to the contralateral choroid

PURPOE: To report metatai of choroidal melanoma to the contralateral choroid. METHOD: Interventional cae report. In a 49-year-old Caucaian female, a primary choroidal melanoma, left eye, wa diagnoed and treated with Ruthenium-106 plaque radiotherapy. The choroidal melanoma howed excellent regreion with flattening of the ma and adjacent chorioretinal atrophy. REULT: Fifteen year after brachytherapy for choroidal melanoma, left eye, the patient developed a metatatic melanoma to the contralateral choroid a the firt ign of metatai. No hitory of oculo(dermal) melanocytoi or cutaneou melanoma exited. ytemic evaluation dicloed multiple metatae confined to the liver. CONCLUION: Metatai to the contralateral choroid can be the firt ign of metatai from choroidal melanoma.
