Metatatic adenocarcinoma with rupture through the bruch membrane imulating a choroidal melanoma

PURPOE: To report a cae of adenocarcinoma metatatic to the choroid with rupture through the Bruch membrane, thu, imulating a choroidal melanoma. METHOD: Interventional cae report. Evaluation in a univerity-baed clinic, including a complete eye examination, fluorecein angiography, and ultraonography; oncological evaluation; and eventual enucleation with hitopathological tudy, including immunohitochemical tain. REULT: A 62-year-old Hipanic female preented with viual lo, right eye, of hort duration becaue of a choroidal ma with retinal detachment. Ultraonography howed a dome-haped leion with an eccentric collar-button projection and medium internal reflectivity, which uggeted a choroidal melanoma. Initial ytemic evaluation wa negative. evere pain neceitated enucleation, RE, and hitopathology of the choroidal ma demontrated an adenocarcinoma. Further examination revealed a left, upper lobe, nonmall cell lung carcinoma. CONCLUION: Metatatic choroidal tumor may preent, although rarely, with collar-button configuration.
