Aociation of glaucoma with neurodegenerative dieae with apoptotic cell death: Alzheimer’ dieae and Parkinon’ dieae

PURPOE: To report a poible aociation of glaucoma with Parkinon’ dieae and Alzheimer’ dieae. METHOD: Retropective chart review (obervational cae erie). The ophthalmologic chart of 49 patient with Alzheimer’ dieae and of 38 patient with Parkinon’ dieae were reviewed to determine the occurrence rate of glaucoma among thee patient. REULT: Glaucomatou viual field defect or cup-to-dik ratio of 0.8 or greater were recorded in 12 patient with Alzheimer’ dieae (24.5%) and in 9 patient with Parkinon’ dieae (23.7%). CONCLUION: Patient with Alzheimer’ dieae and Parkinon’ dieae may have an increaed occurrence rate of glaucoma.
