Photodynamic therapy of a ubretinal neovacular membrane in type 2A idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectai

PURPOE: To report the outcome of a patient with a ubretinal neovacular membrane econdary to idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectai treated with photodynamic female therapy. METHOD: Interventional cae report. A 43-year-old female with type 2A idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectai preented with a 2-week hitory of decreaed viion and a ubretinal neovacular membrane in the left eye. REULT: Viual improvement from 20/70-2 to 20/50-2 in the left eye wa oberved after two photodynamic therapy treatment of a juxtafoveal ubretinal neovacular membrane with verteporfin, and wa maintained through 7 month of follow-up. Fluorecein angiography howed no leakage pecific to the ubretinal neovacular membrane, but leakage from the juxtafoveal telangiectai continued. CONCLUION: A ubtantial improvement wa een in thi patient after treatment of the juxtafoveal ubretinal neovacular membrane by photodynamic therapy. Given the poor prognoi of thee leion, photodynamic therapy may therefore be a ueful treatment for patient with ubretinal neovacular membrane aociated with idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectai
