Ultraound biomicrocopy in the creening of retinopathy of prematurity

PURPOE: To report the ue of ultraound biomicrocopy in the creening of two premature infant with retinopathy of prematurity. METHOD: Obervational cae report. A premature infant born at 26 week’ getation had bilateral tage II, zone II retinopathy of prematurity at 36 week’ getation and wa imaged with ultraound biomicrocopy. A econd premature infant born at 25 week’ getation developed ubthrehold tage III, zone II retinopathy of prematurity in the right eye and wa imaged with ultraound biomicrocopy. REULT: In cae 1, ultraound biomicrocopy imaged a ridge preent naally in zone II of the right eye, conitent with tage II retinopathy of prematurity. In cae 2, ultraound biomicrocopy imaged a neovacular frond preent naally in zone II of the right eye, conitent with tage III retinopathy of prematurity. CONCLUION: Ultraound biomicrocopy may be ueful for creening retinopathy of prematurity, when optical method fail to viualize the peripheral retina.
