Abstract :
PURPOE: To report angiographically documented cytoid macula edema aociated with the ue of each of the three newly available ocular hypotenive lipid: unoprotone, travaprot, and bimatoprot. DEIGN: Obervational cae erie. METHOD: Retropective review of three patient in a clinical practice who had uncontrolled glaucoma on maximal tolerable therapy except for an ocular hypotenive lipid. All three patient alo had previou cataract and filtration urgery, and all had an abent or open poterior len capule. The patient were informed of the potential rik of cytoid macula edema aociated with the ue of an ocular hypotenive lipid veru the rik of repeat filtration urgery. REULT: An ocular hypotenive lipid wa tarted in the affected eye in each patient, and the patient wa intructed to check viual acuity everyday and report back any change in viion occurred. CONCLUION: Decreaed viion of at leat two line caued by angiographically confirmed cytoid macula edema wa noted in each of three patient tarted, repectively, on unoprotone, travaprot, and bimatoprot. The viual acuity returned to baeline, and the cytoid macula edema wa angiographically reolved after dicontinuation of the ocular hypotenive lipid and the initiation of a topical teroid and non-teroidal anti-inflammatory eyedrop. Until a caual relationhip between cytoid macula edema and ocular hypotenive lipid i proved or diproved, caution in their ue in high-rik eye would be prudent.
