Abstract :
PURPOE: To report a cae of acute comitant eotropia uccefully treated with uboccipital decompreion in a 9-year-old male patient with Chiari I malformation.
DEIGN: Interventional cae report.
METHOD: A 9-year-old male with Chiari I malformation had acute onet of diplopia, headache, and comitant eotropia.
REULT: About 9 month after uboccipital decompreion, diplopia reolved and there wa near orthophoria on examination 15 month after urgery.
CONCLUION: In view of our cae and after a review of literature, we advocate primary uboccipital decompreion to treat acute comitant eotropia in patient with Chiari I malformation. A follow-up period of at leat 1 year rather than 6 month eem neceary to ae urgery effect.
