Abstract :
PURPOE: To invetigate the caue of econdary open-angle glaucoma due to arcoidoi.
DEIGN: Obervational cae erie tudied by hitological method.
METHOD: even trabeculectomy pecimen from ix patient with econdary open-angle glaucoma due to ocular arcoidoi (trabeculectomy group) and anterior part of even autopy eye from four patient (autopy eye group) diagnoed a confirmed arcoidoi were proceed for light and tranmiion electron microcopy. Pathological change of outflow route were invetigated.
REULT: Granulomata were found in three eye of the trabeculectomy group and in three eye of the autopy eye group. Part of the chlemm canal wa occluded and replaced by fibrotic tiue and it became narrow in four eye of the trabeculectomy group and three eye of the autopy eye group. The pace of the trabecular mehwork appeared wide, even in the area cloe to granulomata and peripheral anterior ynechia of the iri. Infiltration of lymphocyte, monocyte, and macrophage around the chlemm canal wa found in all eye of the trabeculectomy group and in four eye of the autopy eye group. The infiltration of thee cell wa oberved not only in the inner wall, but alo in the poterior outer wall of the chlemm canal and the collector channel.
CONCLUION: “chlemm canaliti” i propoed from the reult of inflammatory cell infiltration around the wall of the canal. The occluion of the chlemm canal by granulomata or fibrotic tiue replacement of the canal may play an important role in econdary open-angle glaucoma due to arcoidoi.
