Choroidal neovacularization in primary hyperoxaluria

PURPOE: To report a cae of primary hyperoxaluria in which choroidal neovacularization developed bilaterally. DEIGN: Obervational cae report. METHOD: A 22-year-old man with a hitory of type I primary hyperoxaluria complained of a low but progreive lo of viion in both eye for the preceding 8 month. The clinical, fluorecein, and ocular coherence tomography finding are reported. REULT: Fluorecein angiography confirmed the preence of choroidal neovacularization in both eye at the edge of previou macular car. Ocular coherence tomography can were obtained to better characterize the clinical pathology. CONCLUION: In a patient with type 1 primary hyperoxaluria, the preence of choroidal neovacularization in both eye outide but adjacent to an area of previou macular carring i reported. Thee finding are in harmony with the aumption that mechanical factor from the oxalate depoition promote choroidal neovacularization.
