Treatment of conjunctival papillomata with topical interferon Alfa-2b

PURPOE: Two patient with biopy-proven conjunctival papillomata exhibited complete reolution after treatment with topical Interferon Alfa-2b (IFNα2b). DEIGN: Interventional cae report. METHOD: Two patient with monocular biopy-confirmed conjunctival papillomata were treated with IFNα2b, 1 million unit/cc, one drop four time daily until clinical reolution wa achieved. REULT: (Patient 1) The leion’ ize wa ignificantly reduced at 1 month. Complete reolution wa noted at the 3-month viit. No recurrence were een 40 month pot-treatment. (Patient 2) The leion completely reolved after 6 week of treatment. No recurrence ha occurred 18 month pot-treatment. No ytemic or local ide effect of treatment wa noted. CONCLUION: Two izable conjunctival papillomata reolved uing topical IFNα2b alone. Interferon i uually not conidered effective for large olid tumor without urgical debulking. We realize that thi i a limited cae erie, but thee cae may erve a a bai for further invetigation.
