  • Abstract
    PURPOE: To evaluate Colletotrichum keratiti and to report the rik factor and clinical coure. DEIGN: Interventional cae erie. METHOD: In order to report the clinical coure of Colletotichum keratiti, fungal keratiti cae between January 1980 and February 2001 in an intitutional etting were retropectively reviewed and 10 eye of 9 patient with Colletotrichum keratiti were identified by poitive culture. REULT: Colletotrichum pecie were identified in 10 of 360 culture-proven fungal keratiti cae. All cae were enitive to amphotericin B, three of the iolate howed reitance to natamycin, two iolate had intermediate enitivity to natamycin, and one iolate wa reitant to fluconazole. Natamycin 5% wa ued a the initial antifungal agent in eight microbiologically proven fungal keratiti cae. Two of nine patient continued the treatment with amphotericin B 0.15% after the enitivity reult were obtained. CONCLUION: Colletotrichum i an infrequent caue of fungal keratiti. The rik factor are imilar to the known fungal keratiti. Colletotrichum i reitant to natamycin in vitro; however, all our patient reponded well to thi treatment while reitance or intermediate enitivity to natamycin and reitance to fluconazole wa oberved
