pontaneou cloure of a large traumatic macular hole in a young patient

PURPOE: To report the pontaneou reolution of a traumatic macular hole that wa coniderably larger than in previouly reported cae. DEIGN: Obervational cae report METHOD: The clinical and angiographic data of the patient were reviewed. REULT: A traumatic 600 × 400 μ macular hole wa oberved to pontaneouly reolve 5 week after trauma in a 15-year-old patient. Viual acuity only lightly improved conequently (from counting finger at 4 meter to 20/200). The clinical appearance of the fovea after macular hole reolution raied the uggetion that a potconcuion retinal necroi wa the mechanim behind the leion formation in thi cae. CONCLUION: pontaneou reolution of a traumatic macular hole i an outcome not limited to mall leion. Larger macular hole may repreent retinal tiue lo and conequently a le favorable viual prognoi.
