Intraocular infiltration of adult T-cell leukemia

PURPOE: To report a cae of adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) with unilateral dene vitreou opacitie that benefited from vitrectomy. DEIGN: Interventional cae report. METHOD: Diagnotic vitrectomy wa performed on a 59-year-old man with ATL who had vitreou opacity in the right eye. REULT: White infiltration of the retina wa noted after vitrectomy. Cytologic examination of the vitreou pecimen obtained during urgery revealed infiltration of ATL cell into the vitreou and retina. After vitrectomy and additional chemotherapy, viual acuity improved in the right eye from 20/100 to 25/20. CONCLUION: Infiltration of the vitreou and retina by ATL i rare. Diagnotic vitrectomy i effective for treatment and viual improvement.
