Pathologic myopia: where are we now?

PURPOE: To decribe current concept and available treatment for pathologic myopia. DEIGN: Review of experimental and clinical tudie. METHOD: The demography, natural hitory, medical and urgical treatment for choroidal neovacular membrane, vitreoretinal interface diorder and future trategie for pathologic myopia are reviewed. REULT: everal medical and urgical modalitie are currently available to treat variou complication of pathologic myopia. Macular tranlocation appear to tabilize or improve viual function in many eye with choroidal neovacularization. CONCLUION: Newer trategie are emerging to better ameliorate or prevent the complication of pathologic myopia.
