Purpoe To evaluate reported cae of cleriti and other ocular ide effect aociated with pamidronate diodium, with emphai on previouly unreported cae of cleriti. Deign Obervational cae erie. Method Cae report from the National Regitry of Drug-Induced Ocular ide Effect (Caey Eye Intitute), the Food and Drug Adminitration, the World Health Organization, and the literature were reviewed to determine poible advere ocular ide effect aociated with pamidronate diodium. The World Health Organization’ Cauality Aement Guide wa ued to categorize an advere drug reaction. Reult eventeen cae of unilateral cleriti and one cae of bilateral cleriti occurred, uually within 6 hour to 2 day after intravenou pamidronate diodium. ix patient had poitive rechallenge teting with the cleriti occurring after a repeat drug expoure. Other ocular ide effect with poitive rechallenge data, aociated with pamidronate diodium, include blurred viion, nonpecific conjunctiviti, ocular pain, bilateral anterior uveiti, and epicleriti. Concluion Thi i the firt report, with rechallenge data, of any drug cauing cleriti. Pamidronate diodium can caue viion–threatening dieae, which may require dicontinuing the drug in ome uveiti cae and, in thi erie, all cae of cleriti.
