Purpoe To invetigate whether trypan blue ha a toxic effect on cultured retinal pigment epithelial (retinal pigment epithelium) cell. Deign Experimental tudy with a direct live/dead cell taining technique uing fluorecent dye. Method Cultured human retinal pigment epithelium cell were expoed for 5 minute to variou concentration of trypan blue (0.06%, 0.15%, 0.30%), and cell viability wa confocally meaured. Reult No increaed cell death wa found in culture incubated in any of the trypan blue concentration ued. Concluion Thee finding indicate that a hort expoure of trypan blue doe not have a toxic effect on cultured retinal pigment epithelium cell.
