Increaed interleukin-6 in aqueou humor of a patient with lung-metatatic intraocular adenocarcinoma

Purpoe We report increaed interleukin (IL)-6 level in aqueou humor of a cae of lung adenocarcinoma with metatai to iri and anterior chamber. Deign Interventional cae report. Method In one cae and 11 healthy cataract patient a control, we checked the level of IL-6, IL-2, and tumor necroi factor (TNF)-α in aqueou humor and erum by enzyme-linked immunoorbent aay. Reult Level of thee three cytokine in erum were almot the ame a with the level in aqueou humor in the control group. The IL-6 concentration ranged from 12.6 to 27.0 pg/ml (mean, 23.5 pg/ml) in erum and 15.0 to 43.1 pg/ml (mean, 22.4 pg/ml) in aqueou humor. There wa no tatitically ignificant difference between them. Compared with the control, the IL-6 concentration in aqueou humor of thi patient, 282.0 pg/ml, increaed more than 10-fold. Concluion Thi i a report decribing elevated IL-6 level in the aqueou humor of a patient with intraocular metatai from lung adenocarcinoma.
