Optic neuropathy produced by a compreed mucocele in an onodi cell

Purpoe To decribe a patient with compreive optic neuropathy caued by a mucocele in an Onodi cell. Deign Interventional cae report. Method A 73-year-old man complained of udden viual lo in the left eye 10 day after cataract urgery. Coronal computed tomography howed a homogeneou ma in an Onodi cell. Magnetic reonance imaging revealed an oval-haped leion that compreed the left optic nerve. Reult After endocopic microurgery of the paranaal inu, viual acuity in the left eye improved. Hitopathological examination of the excied pecimen howed a mucocele. Concluion Ophthalmologit hould be aware that the mucocele in the Onodi cell, an anatomical variation of the paranaal inu, may compre the optic nerve.
